Ten mining and infrastructure projects on one record

Mining contracts, mineral transport and civil work run side by side, and the office needs to see all of them without waiting for a call from each one.

The situation

BS Mining Corporation works out of Joda, in Odisha’s Kendujhar district, and describes its business as mining, logistics and infrastructure services. Its contracts cover the mining, extraction and transport of minerals such as iron ore and manganese, alongside civil construction work.

Work like that does not sit on one plot. Different contracts run at the same time, in different places, with their own crews, machines and deadlines — and a small office has to keep track of every one of them.

How they run it

  • Each contract is set up as its own project. Ten are running on buildcontrol today.
  • A five-person team works on the one account, with access by role, so each person sees the projects and records they are responsible for.
  • Site activity is recorded against the project it belongs to, so a day on one contract never gets mixed up with a day on another.
  • The office reads the position of every project from the same record instead of assembling it from calls and messages.

What that gives them

One place where every live contract can be seen. Mining, transport and civil work are tracked the same way, and the team does not have to remember which update came from where — it is recorded against the project it belongs to.
