The situation

Siddhivinayak Realty develops residential projects. A developer is not just running site work — it is carrying the cost of it, across projects that are at different stages at the same time.

That makes two questions constant: how much material has gone into a project, and how much is still owed against it. Both are easy to answer at the end and hard to answer during.

How they run it

• Material is recorded on delivery and on issue, so stock at a project reflects what is actually there.
• Purchase orders carry an expected delivery status, so what is still to arrive is visible without chasing the supplier.
• Contractor and supplier dues sit in one ledger per project, with advances and adjustments included.
• Tasks carry status and dates, so progress on a project rolls up rather than being asked for.

What that gives them

Cost and progress are readable per project while the project is running. Material that has gone in, dues outstanding and work completed come from the same record instead of three separate ones.
